 Abstract

Russia, like the whole world, is facing a crisis. It is important to understand that the anti-crisis decisions that have been made continue to affect our lives, the economy and politics even after the crisis is over. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the Russian authorities have taken a number of measures that have helped the population and businesses, as well as contained the economic downturn in the country. One of the main initiatives of the government was tax relief for companies and entrepreneurs. The consequences of the coronavirus pandemic have become a heavy burden on the Russian economy. Against the background of the introduction of quarantine restrictions from April to June 2020, Russia's GDP fell by 8% at once, and by the end of the whole year, the decline may be about 4%. Meanwhile, the observed economic downturn was more restrained than in a number of other states. First, thanks to the timely decisions of the president and the actions of the government.
